1. Who we are

The website lmdc.ro and La Maison de Caroline guesthouse are operated by LA MAISON DE CAROLINE S.R.L., tax identification number (CUI) RO29092584, registered with the Trade Register under no. J2011000648017, with its registered office at Str. Primăverii nr. 11, Alba Iulia 510101, jud. Alba, Romania (“we”, “us”).

Our role: direct merchant. We sell our own accommodation and restaurant services, in our own name, and we provide them ourselves. We are not an intermediary or a booking platform. We issue the invoice for the services. Card payments are processed by NETOPIA Payments, which is not a party to the accommodation contract. How the services are provided is described on the Delivery policy.

2. Scope of these terms

These terms apply to accommodation bookings made on this website and to table reservation requests at the restaurant. By submitting a booking, you confirm that you have read and accept them, together with the Privacy policy and the Online payment page, which form part of the contract.

You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking.

3. Services and prices

  • Prices are shown in lei (RON), per room and per night, and include VAT.
  • Before submitting your booking, you can see the total price of your stay, broken down by night and by room. The total shown at the end is the amount payable.
  • Children under 11 stay free of charge in the parents’ bed, within the capacity of the room. The Deluxe Apartment is reserved for adults only.
  • Details of what each room type includes, such as breakfast, are given on the room’s page and in the booking summary.
  • Photographs are for illustration purposes. Rooms of the same type may differ slightly in layout, without this changing their essential features.
  • If a price is displayed with an obvious error, we will contact you before confirmation: you may keep the booking at the correct price or cancel it, and any amount paid will be refunded in full.

4. Booking and conclusion of the contract

  1. Choose your arrival and departure dates and the number of guests, then the room or rooms.
  2. Enter the lead guest’s details and choose the payment method.
  3. Tick the box to accept these terms and submit the booking.

Until you submit it, you can change the dates, the rooms and the details entered at any time. The contract is concluded in Romanian when the booking receives the status Confirmed and we send you the confirmation by email. For online payments, confirmation follows once the bank approves the payment. A booking awaiting payment holds the room for 30 minutes; if the payment is not completed within this time, the booking expires and the room is released.

The link in the confirmation email lets you view your booking at any time and cancel it within the free cancellation period. We may refuse or cancel a booking in justified cases (incomplete or false details, suspected fraud); we will inform you, and any amount paid will be refunded in full.

5. Payment

The available payment methods are shown at the end of the booking process:

  • online, by card (Visa, Mastercard), via NETOPIA Payments, when this option is shown at the end of the booking; details on the Online payment page;
  • at reception, on arrival, in cash or by card.

The invoice is issued by LA MAISON DE CAROLINE S.R.L., at reception. If you need an invoice in the name of a company, please give us the company details at check-in or in the booking notes.

6. Cancelling and changing your booking

  • Cancellation is free of charge until 12:00 noon, 2 days before the arrival date. You can cancel using the link received by email, or you can call us.
  • Cancellation is free of charge up to 2 days before your arrival date, until 12:00 noon. After this deadline, or in the event of a no-show, please contact us by phone. Bookings paid online and cancelled within this period are refunded in full to the card used for payment.
  • Refunds for card payments are made to the same card, with no fees charged by us. Timeframes and details: Return and refund policy.
  • To change your dates or rooms, please contact us. Changes are subject to availability and may change the price.
  • If you leave earlier than the booked departure date, the remaining nights may be charged.

7. Right of withdrawal

Under Article 16(l) of Government Emergency Ordinance (OUG) no. 34/2014 on consumer rights, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to accommodation services provided on a specific date or within a specific period. For accommodation bookings, the cancellation rules in section 6 apply.

8. Check-in and check-out

  • Check-in from 14:00, check-out by 12:00. On request and subject to availability, we can arrange an early arrival or a late departure.
  • At check-in, each adult guest presents a valid identity document; the details are entered in the register of accommodated guests, as required by law.
  • Please let us know your estimated time of arrival, especially if you will be arriving late in the evening.

9. House rules

  • Smoking is not permitted in the rooms or in the indoor areas of the guesthouse.
  • If you would like to bring a pet, please contact us before making your booking.
  • Guests are liable for any damage caused to the guesthouse’s property.
  • Parking is available, subject to availability.
  • Items left behind are kept and can be sent to you by courier, at your expense.

10. Restaurant reservations

The “Book a table” form sends a request. Your table reservation becomes firm once we confirm it, by telephone or by email. For private events, we agree the terms with you separately.

11. Complaints

You can write to us at contact@lmdc.ro or call us on 0752 624 766, quoting your booking code and describing the situation. We will reply within 30 days at the latest.

12. Intellectual property

The content of the website (texts, photographs, logo, graphics) belongs to LA MAISON DE CAROLINE S.R.L. or its partners and may not be copied or used commercially without written consent.

13. Liability

We are not liable for delays or non-performance caused by force majeure or by the acts of third parties that we could not have prevented. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under consumer protection legislation.

14. Personal data

We process your data in accordance with the Privacy policy and the Cookie policy.

15. Dispute resolution

We try to resolve any disagreement amicably. You may also contact the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC, anpc.ro), including through the alternative dispute resolution procedure (SAL) under Government Ordinance (OG) no. 38/2015, on the platform reclamatiisal.anpc.ro, or refer the matter to the competent courts.

16. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by Romanian law, including Government Emergency Ordinance (OUG) no. 34/2014, Government Ordinance (OG) no. 21/1992 on consumer protection and Law no. 365/2002 on electronic commerce. We may update these terms; your booking is governed by the version published on the date you submitted it.
